They have similar stats with the tac having more initial range. Find the gun, then play with the scope to find your sweet spot. I use the 6x scope, with an acog style mounted on a m17 for close/mid range shots. 2.Between the two classes the M82 Sniper Rifle in particular is best overall. It doesn't have the absolute highest damage or range, but it's pretty damn close and is the strongest semi-auto Sniper. With the Rolling Thunder perk it absolutely shreds drones, which are the only enemies where damge matters as everything else dies in 1-2 headshots.
