Maybe your mechanic isn't equipped to handle it. Hopefully, you bought the correct product. My 2018 Acadia (16,000 miles) has started to give the Shift to park warning more frequently in the past month or so. I haven't taken it in yet because I know they won't find anything wrong. I've tried all kinds of things to remedy to no avail.

Have been advised that GM now recognizes the problem to be with the micro switch used in the shifter to indicated that it is in fact in Park. The fix is replacement of the shift mechanism, not the harness. The replacement shifter has an improved micro switch.
