With a Brute you'll want the Tinkerer to take more of a supporting role (healing\manipulation) while the Scoundrel acts a bit more like an assassin (high damage to select targets). Mindthief gives you two decent assassins, good board control and the Tinkerer acting in more of a crowd control / artillery role as the situation demands. Tip.

I am playing through the tutorials on Gloomhaven digital and it seems like there is a bug in the scenario where you first encounter the wounded tinkerer. The victory conditions (brains over brawn) are 1) Heal to Cure the tinkers wound and 2) Hit at least 3 living bones this round.
