Whether or not the engine is running, the wheels need to be in exactly the right position to shift at all and often I can't find all of the gear positions. I have a 2015 825i with a deluxe cab. Earlier this spring the drive belt blew apart. Replaced the belt and cleaned the clutches and blew them out with a compressor.
