Ram 2500 stuck in 4th gear.

In order to fully release the tension keeping it in gear or get the gears to mesh going in, you want to be moving 1-3 mph in either direction when ever you shift in or out. Always try to shift out of 4x4 low on before getting on a hard surface, especially turning.

Easy to fix, just take the top of the trans off from inside the cab and check it out, easy to see if it's trying to go into two gears at the same time. Big screwdriver will pry it right. I recently bought a 2008 Ram 2500 with the 6.7I Cummins (the truck is totally stock except for suspension lift and tires). The transmission started to act up recently. It wouldn't shift past 4th gear, CEL came on, and the codes read P0700 and P0871. Dealer said new transmission, but I wasn't going to pay what they wanted.
