A list of Sumerian rulers, the Sumerian King List is one of the greatest sources of information on ancient Mesopotamia. The list documents the names of Sumerian rulers and the length of their reigns. The list is not completely historically accurate, as it blends facts with myths. One king is credited with living over 40,000 years!Sumerians and their language, and does so in a way which, it is hoped, the interested layman can follow with understanding and insight. The second chapter deals with the history of Sumer from the prehistoric days of the fifth millennium to the early second millennium B.C., when the Sumerians ceased to exist as a political entity.
